The Paralympics in London have really set new parameters for the sports and athletes and engaged the UK public as never before.
You may like to see how Samsung positioned itself for the Paralympics. Samsung is one of the Worldwide Partner’s of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). The company decided to spread the message of Paralympics wider than ever before through the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
This is great video – you’ll feel inspired. “Sport doesn’t care where you’re from, if you’re a man or a woman, tall, thin, big or short. Sport doesn’t care how you got here, how much money you make, what you believe in or not. It doesn’t care if you have two legs, one leg or wheels. Sport only cares that you’re here to take part and give your all to win.”

Samsung also created behind the scenes footage and an interesting manifesto with the Paralympians. See the following links:

Technology for the Para-athletes…
3DPrinting technology is being used to support the performance and achievements of disabled people in at the 2012 London Paralympics – for the first time innovative customised seats were used, by the British wheelchair basketball team. Paralympic wheelchairs are individually moulded for each player by taking the individual’s size, shape and particular disability into account. Biomechanical 3D scans and CAD are applied for total accuracy. Seats, which include part of the back rest, are made specifically to accommodate each individual’s needs. For example, a player with a spinal cord injury has a seat that provides additional support around their lower back.
